Working with families at outreach locations all over the borough was going to be the main activity for five advisors working on the Family Solutions Child Poverty Innovation Pilot in London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.
With the staff due to start and clients coming on board, the project quickly needed to be able to record detailed information on families living in the borough at their regular appointments, produce 'live' Family Action Plans, record and measure clients' self assessment responses, produce statistics and reports, provide access to a broad range of information on partner services, measure soft skills development and distance travelled and, crucially, avoid the transport of any sensitive data on paper, laptops or memory sticks.
The Tendis/ Communautic IT Solutions Team's first step was to work with the project stakeholders to ensure the design for the new system met the needs of all users from front line delivery staff through to project funders and external evaluators. The result, the Initiate 'Online Management Tool', was delivered within two months of the start of project delivery.

With functionality at the forefront of the design process, advisors familiar with IT/ Windows require only a brief introduction to its use.
