In November 2009, the Community and Voluntary Sector Association (CaVSA) commissioned Tendis to deliver training to participants on its innovative new apprenticeship programme. As one of the first third sector organisations in the UK to develop and implement such a programme, CaVSA was keen to ensure that the fifteen recruited apprentices were given the support they needed to succeed.
Tendis worked closely with CaVSA to develop a range of sessions that would support the apprentices as they settled into work and college whilst also enhancing their employability. Sessions focused on the issues that young people face when starting work and aimed to provide an environment in which the apprentices felt comfortable and confident to participate and interact with others. The programme was delivered over a three month period and included sessions such as 'Having the Right Attitude for Work', 'Self-confidence at Work' and 'Personal

Money Management'.
"The trainers that have delivered the sessions have shown a massive empathy towards the learners and helped them bridge the gap between pre and post first job."
